MRIGHTS is expanding its international network for the protection of audiovisual copyright through a new representation agreement with SACD (Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques), the French collective management organization active in the audiovisual and live performance sectors.

Under the agreement, SACD will represent MRIGHTS-managed audiovisual authors in France within the professional categories covered by the arrangement, ensuring more effective rights management and a broader collection of royalties generated from the use of works in the French territory.

The agreement covers screenwriters, dialogue writers, adaptors, authors of pre-existing works, and directors of audiovisual productions.

For authors represented by MRIGHTS, the partnership with SACD provides a significant advantage in terms of both the economic value of their works and the international protection of their rights. The presence of a well-established collecting society such as SACD in the French market will enable more efficient management of royalties arising from television broadcasting, on-demand services, private copying schemes, and other forms of audiovisual exploitation.

This new partnership strengthens MRIGHTS’ role in the collective management of copyright and confirms the company’s commitment to creating new remuneration opportunities for screenwriters, directors, and other audiovisual creators, while ensuring increasingly comprehensive protection at both the European and international levels.

Through strategic agreements with leading foreign collecting societies, MRIGHTS continues to develop a rights management system that is more effective, transparent, and focused on maximizing the royalties due to rightsholders.
